A little late in the season to be writing this review...but my Christmas book was definitely a hit! Also for this being my first Claire Kingsley book as well, I was highly impressed.
How the Grump Saved Christmas is a second chance romance that follows Isabelle Cook and Elias Stoneheart is this wonderful retelling of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. Elias' data company is looking for land to build their new data center and why not "buy" the land of Christmas Tree Farm owned by Isabelle Cook's family. If you love a good Hallmark Movie, this book gives you all the Hallmark feels. While I was listening to the audiobook I also got the sense that this book also has some elements of Dicken's A Christmas Carol as well.
Even though this is supposed to be a love story...my favorite character was Maddy (Elias' assistant's daughter). She brought so much joy into the book and she helped melt Elias' heart.
Content ⚠️ : This book does contain the following, death of a parent, miscarriage, and childhood trauma.
The book is not spicy at all but it is stinking cute that I can live without the spice. I give this book 5 stars and can not wait to read both the Bailey and Haven Brothers series!
