Well, 2025 started with a bang! Starting my year off in Friendship, RI was a great place to start! I also listened to the audio for this book and the narration was amazing!
In A Jam follows the story of Shay who after her horrible fiancé leaves her on their wedding day, finds herself returning to the small town where she spent her final years of high school. According to her grandmother's will, a wacky one at that, Shay will inherit the Tulip farm that she grew up on...however, Shay must live in Friendship for one year...and get married! Luckily Shay runs into her high school best friend Noah and they come up with a deal, get fake married so Shay can inherit the farm, and once the year is over Shay can sell the farm to Noah. What could go wrong lol. 😆
Now you might be thinking that I am going to write how much I love Shay and Noah...you are not that wrong but the main star of this book TO ME is Noah's niece Genny! That girl had me laughing the whole time and for a seven-year-old has a lot of spunk in her. She speaks her mind and drops cuss words like a sailor, which in her mind she is.
Content ⚠️: This book contains the following absentee parent(s), brief mention of parent death, parent's chronic illness, mention of incarceration, temporary foster care placement, reference to teenage teasing/bullying (not detailed, not explicit), brief incidence of fat-shaming, and living with a neurodivergent child.
Spicy Level: I would give this book a solid 3.5 on the spicy level only because of Noah! That man is a freak!
Kate, you have no idea how happy I was to open up Instagram the other day to see that Emme is getting a book! Consider this my petition for a book for Jamie! I also loved her so much! I also give this book 5 stars!
