Declan and Iris Kane, you will always be my favorite couple in the Lauren Asher Universe...but Julian and Dahlia are coming for your spot!
Love Redesigned is the first book in Lauren Asher's new Lakefront Billionaire series which follows the love story between Julian Lopez and Dahlia Muñoz. Julian and Dahlia are childhood rivals reunited after years of being apart. Dahlia returns to her childhood home after her fiance calls off their engagement. Julian, pushed by his loving mother Josefina, helps Dahlia get back on her feet as they team up together to restore the Founder's House in Lake Wisteria, Michigan.
I know I am going to love a book when I am giggling and smiling to myself. Lauren does a fantastic job at balancing light-hearted conversation while also providing space for the characters to talk about the traumas they experienced healthily. Dahlia is a very strong FMC and even though she is going through a tough break-up and some unexpected news about her health, she was able to slowly bounce back to her old self. Julien is your traditional workaholic to avoid having to deal with his emotions but with Dahlia coming back into the picture, he now has to face his feelings straight on and he also falls first which is also hot!
There are more side characters in this book than there were in the Dreamland Billionaire series, however, they were still all strong characters. I am excited to see what Lauren has in store for Rafa and Nico because they deserve a happy ending!
In the majority of Lauren Asher's books, she does toe the line of having more difficult topics that her characters must endure. This book does contain the following: depression, antidepressants, anxiety, mentions of the death of a parent (off-page), child loss, postpartum depression, grief, and infertility (slight spoiler).
I would classify this book as a slow burn, but because Julien and Dahlia are rivals...it makes sense. However, when they do get together it is spicy. I would give it a three on the spicy level for sure.
Overall, I give Love Redesigned 5 stars! I am so excited to continue the series and can not wait to read Love Unwritten.
