Now let me start by saying this I love Tarah, Funny Feelings has a very special place in my heart...but I was not the biggest fan of this book.

Rootbound follows the love story of Tait Logan and Henry Marcum who meet on Tait's estranged family's ranch in the mountains of Idaho. I loved the love story between Tait and Henry...my issue came with the relationship building between Tait and her family specifically her dad. I felt as if Tait forgave her dad too quickly after he just abandoned his family many years ago. Sweet Tait is too forgiving in my opinion and her dad should have had a better reason as to why he just did not follow his family when he had a chance. Also, the plot twist at the end about the mom bummed me out. Also, Tait's husband deserves all the negative things that can happen to a person.
Overall it was a good book. The banter was spot on as always with Tarah and she was able to capture who Tait was.
Content ⚠️ : This book deals with abandonment issues, the death of a family member, family trauma, and heart failure.
I give this book a 2 on the spice level. Overall I give Rootbound a 3.5 which to me is still a good book just not my favorite. I am excited to read the rest of Tarah's catalog and meet more of her characters!
